Why You Can Find Comfort in the Experience of Jesus

Hebrews 2:10

It was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.

Hebrews 2:10

The word ‘perfect’ here means complete. Jesus became the saviour He is through His suffering. Suffering shapes a person. It builds character, depth, and sensitivity into your life.

A saviour who had never suffered would have something lacking. There would be a whole realm of life to which he could not relate. But there is nothing lacking in Jesus.

When you suffer, you are drawn to someone who has been there. There is all the difference in the world between talking to a person who’s been through the same kind of experience and talking to someone who has not. Jesus has been there.

The Bible tells us, “We do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathise with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (4:15-16).

Study the religions of the world and you will find that they all teach about suffering, but Christianity has a person who says, “I have been through it, and I will walk with you.” God wants you to find comfort in the experience of Jesus.

Do you feel drawn to Jesus today, to bring your sufferings to Him?
