Taking on a leadership role in Christian ministry is never easy. Whether you are leading a small group, teaching a Sunday school class, serving as a missionary, or pastoring a church… establishing deep roots in God’s Word is essential to serving effectively and glorifying the Lord.

Open the Bible for Leaders is free video-based training designed to equip all kinds of leaders with a solid biblical foundation and practical guidance for establishing fruitful gospel ministry for the long haul. Whatever your leadership role within your church, these materials can equip, refresh and inspire you in your ministry.

Each session is designed to be self contained and works well for individuals or groups. Simply watch the session video and then work through the questions.

Module 1:

Watch Your Life

1. Growing in Godliness

Leaders in the church can do great good. The can also do great harm. Godliness is an attitude towards God composed of three elements: fear of God, love of God, and desire of God. Find out more with Pastor Colin.

It would be easy to think that the bible is only a book packed full of information on God, the nature of the world and ourselves. Listen in as Pastor Colin explores how whilst it is that, it is also so so much more.

Watch Your Doctrine

1. Knowing God

“Here I am, send me!” should be the cry of every Christian leader. The Prophet Isaiah first spoke these familiar words after a transforming encounter with the living God in Isaiah 6. Join Pastor Colin as he helps us see how God’s holiness and glory propel us forward in “Here I am, send me!” type-service.

Sustaining a Lifetime of Ministry

In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus shares truth that will shape our expectations for ministry. Join Pastor Colin as he walks through this parable and shares practical wisdom for fruit and perseverance.

How do we press on in service to Christ when evil seems to make greater progress than the gospel? Pastor Colin opens the Parable of the Weeds to show us our limitations and point us to our limitless God.

So far we’ve seen many of the challenges we will face in ministry: a mixed reception to the Word of God, ministry in an increasingly evil world, and an enemy who aims to destroy God’s work.
